The City

Modern Atlanta is a great cosmopolitan city and well worth a visit. From the outside, Atlanta looks like a typical American big city with skyscrapers and plenty of hotels and restaurants. However, there is much more to explore. It is a place full of American history that predates the American Civil War. It is also the birthplace of several famous people, such as civil rights’ fighter Martin Luther King Jr. and Margaret Mitchell, author of "Gone With the Wind". It is home to the world’s most famous soda brand, Coca-Cola, and its headquarters and museum are still based in Atlanta. Sports enthusiasts will find a complete selection of options including the Turner Field, home of the Atlanta Braves, the Georgia Dome hosting the NFL Atlanta Falcons, the Philips Arena showcasing NBA Atlanta Hawks and the WNBA Atlanta Dream.
